The Four Corners Oil and Gas Conference was a great success, and our
workshop on Optimization of Infill Drilling in Naturally-Fractured Reservoirs in Tight Gas
Reservoirs in the San Juan Basin was very popular. There were presentations from a number
of researchers who have been working on a project up in the San Juan Basin for several
years. If you would like a copy of the workshop book, contact Martha Cather by email or telephone
(505.835.5685). We hope to have some of the information from the workshop up on a web page
by mid-summer, including an infill-drilling calculator spreadsheet application developed
by PhD student Mike Kelly.
The next PTTC event will be in September at the Rocky Mountain
Section AAPG meeting in Albuquerque. We will be sponsoring and chairing the session
on Fractured Reservoirs. Also, there will be an international conference on
"Evaluation of Reservoir Wettability and Its Effect on Oil Recovery" on
September 27-28, 2000. Look for more information on both these meetings later this summer.
